Yeah, when I first sketched this guy in a meeting I thought to myself, "Hey Cool! I have never seen this before!" Happily I scanned him in excited to paint him up. Then at first I was thinking that he looked a lot like Mr. Incredible, then later I was thinking, "This is the love child between Mr. Incredible and Hellboy?" Then when I finally gave up, I said, "Man! I do this nose all the time!" and I thought about my hitman ( also see witch from previous post). Then at last I was like, "Crap! this is just another version of my bodybuilder guy." Damn you originality!!! Damn you!!!!!
A side note, I found a great blog today http://idigcerealkillers.blogspot.com/

HAHAHAHAHA that explanation made me laugh. Funny! I struggle with this all the time too, by the way. However, the colour palette you're using here is something I don't think I've quite seen yet. I love how you pushed the cools so that his giant chin literally is getting a different hue. Maybe I'll rip you off now.
Don't forget the Scotsman.
A very cool picture! There can't be many shapes that havn't been drawn before - I think all original concepts now must be combinations of things we've seen or drawn ourselves?! Or perhaps there is a hidden shape no one has drawn before!
Well when you draw/paint that well... that's a problem anyone would gladly take on. If anything it jst makes you draw even more! Keep at it!
I have the same problem all the time but I am willing to bet that you have a greater amount of shapes at your disposal!
I was going to comment on how I actually liked the design, structure and palette of this guy but I'm still angry at you for not showing up in Seattle.
Hey, I love Mr. increadHell Boy. I like that you led us in to the deep thoughts of Adam Ford.
ahahah! excellent!
you're tough with yourself Adam!
this character is excellent, and in a way, everything has already be done so it will be very difficult to be original...
Hilarious!
Actually, he kinda reminds me of a beefed-out homestarrunner, which makes him pretty dang cool. :)
Ahhh... Brian beat me to it. I was thinking homestar as well. I also think his lip and chin kind of look like a toilet bowl. So maybe he could be a super-villain named "Potty-Mouth."
BTW, I love the colors.
Awesome design. I think the shelf-chin-lip is my favorite part.
Now I'm curious to see your alias-like sketch. I think all face-kicking drawings should be encouraged. :)
And by the way, your Man Dominating Beast Trilogy is fantastic. Really really nice.
Still it's great work you do!
Really cool!
:) Roxanne
Man, those be some sweet colors! Dig the lighting too. You and your cursed originality, tsk tsk.
very cool!!!!
Paco K.
Really cool character!
LOL- that's funny, i say that to myself all the time. killer piece, love your design/ colors.
So there's some similarities... who cares about originality when something's working this well? I just want to say, though... you really should be paying attention in meetings. According to my high school teachers who told me I needed to pay attention in class instead of sketching... "There's no future in drawing." Keep that in mind while you reach for the stars.
Hahahaha !! I love this face !!! Wonderful !!! Very nice !! Thank you ^__^
lol, i do that all the time! same bloody nose etc. oh well, i wouldn't be too disapointed- it looks amazing!
