Sketches, Attempts and Vacations

I think there a lot of species of sketchbook people. So far, I have only been able to classify three: 1.Those who do exactly one drawing per page. Generally, these folks are clean and tidy and their drawing is almost to a state where it could be considered a final piece. 2. those who fill every square inch of their sketchbook with crap that has no correlation to any adjacent drawings and 3. People who draw a crap load of eyes and left hands.
I see a lot of other blogs posting sketches and I never really feel worthy of doing it. Some people are all about sketch blogs and they can get away with it. But after talking with Ryan Wood we always felt that we had to post final pieces for some reason. I think we set certain precedences that we fear to breach. But I figured maybe if I post enough extra content in one post, I can justify a sketch book post. So, here is a scan directly from my sketch clip board. Unadulterated, unabridged, just as you would find it on the cheap printer paper that I use.
This second piece was inspired entirely by Sam Nielson's fantastic figure paintings that he does almost every Friday. It was really hard trying to do this. I found that there is a lot of discrepancies with drawing on a tablet while looking at a monitor while looking at a distant model. I am also jealous that Sam can get a complete product every time. Obviously, mine still leaves something to be desired in the completion arena. Overall, I think I am happy with it??? But I imagine it will be my last time with this exercise.
